Head of Business Development, Core (Maternity Contract)

What are we looking for?

The Head of Business Development (Core) is responsible for the delivery and execution of core business development targets, identifying growth opportunities (through new Partners) and enabling and embedding sales improvements. They are responsible for signing of all non-strategic opportunities.

What you will be doing?

Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer

Main accountabilities and key tasks:

- Accountable for successful execution of business development strategy for prospective Partners and achievement of sales targets
- Accountable for allocation of resource to maximise prospective business development opportunities in line with optimising absolute contribution
- Works with CCO to identify opportunities / Partners to support CarTrawler`s growth
- Accountable for developing a plan to identify and realise prospective Partner opportunities in markets aligned with the strategy (e.g. North America)
- Accountable for embedding optimisation improvements into core business development team
- Accountable for ensuring the core business development team work in line with the commercial framework(s) and sell products that are in the CarTrawler portfolio
- Accountable for constantly ensuring the business has the right resourcing to achieve sales targets - Working with Director of Product & Brand Marketing to ensure the team have the most up to date and relevant material on our product for their pitch
- Accountable for management of team and providing leadership
- Mentor and coach your team to sign new profitable business contracts and achieve targets
Accountable for ensuring Business Development teams understand the deal framework matrix, including commercial contribution for each Partner
- Accountable for Business Development Managers having access to Technical support from other functions
- Accountable for communicating wins to the business and conducting win / loss analysis to further improve end-to-end business development process
- Defines and owns handover process from sales to Go-live and Partner Relationship Management for other Partners

Critical Interfaces:

- CCO to develop business development strategy for Partners
- Go-live and Partner Relationship Management to ensure a smooth handover process from Sales
- Director of Business Development (Strategic) to determine how to transition Partners between teams and to identify strategic opportunities / Partners to support CarTrawler`s growth
- Finance and Legal on commercial contracts
- Product & Brand Marketing to obtain "ready for market" pitch materials

Skills required:

- At least 5 years` experience in similar/relevant role
- Experienced negotiator with extensive sales experience
- Commercial acumen with a deep understanding of Partners and the competitive market
- Ability to work in a fast paced, competitive environment
- Excellent communication and relationship skills to bring in new Partners
- Quick thinker and decision maker when prospecting Partners
- Be a positive representative of CarTrawler and maintain the brand in the marketplace when talking to Partners
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team to proactively and strategically deliver results
