Insurance Claims Analyst

What are we looking for?

The individual will own the day-to-day management of claims costs, which are a bi-product of CarTrawler`s rental car insurance product.

The individual will be accountable for identification of opportunities for savings in claim costs & delivery of an action plan to deliver claim cost efficiencies v. plan. The individual will work to improve current insurance metrics (& estimates), while providing greater insight to internal business functions.

What you will be doing?

-Identification of opportunities for savings in claim costs & delivery of an action plan to deliver claim cost efficiencies v. plan;
-Examination of drivers into claim costs & cancellation rates;
-Keep track of & report on claim costs KPIs - capture same within internal reporting dashboards;
-Provide regular reporting into initiatives & trends by partners, suppliers, locations - to do this, he/she will utilise access to Car Supply managers (& in turn suppliers), Insurers, Trading, Data Science & Commercial Finance;
-Work with Insurers & CarTrawler Commercial Finance to improve Claims Management Information; as well as tightening claims handling procedures;
-Lead with initiatives to improve the customer experience by focusing on areas of high claim costs that fall outside of accepted parameters;
-Work collaboratively with Customer Centre of Excellence on resolving day to day issues & also managing escalated insurance claims.

Skills required:

-Knowledge of the insurance & car rental industry is desirable;
-Proficient with Excel, previous experience with SQL & Tableau an advantage;
-Professional, finance or accounting qualification a benefit, although not essential;
-Proven ability to work with & manage integrity of large data sets;
-Strong attention to detail & ability to understand financial and commercial indicators;
-Strong analytical skills - ability to `think outside the box`;
-Builds & maintains positive relationships within the team, cross-functionally and with external stakeholders;
-Holds self-accountable for ensuring that results are achieved;
-Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects & drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment;
-Demonstrates excellent communication skills;
-Ability to prioritise workloads according to business focus and opportunity;
-Exhibits enthusiasm, positive professional attitude, integrity and reliability;
-Experience working in a regulated industry and/or strong regulatory awareness, a benefit.
