FP&A Analyst (Cost Accountant)

What are we looking for?

The Commercial Finance function comprises of a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team and a Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team, both of which are under the remit of the Commercial Finance Director. The Commercial Finance function is responsible for all budgeting, forecasting and Board reporting for the business in addition to providing financial analysis and decision support to the various departments within the business. This role will report directly into the Head of FP&A and will have responsibility for ensuring that our cost base(Headcount and OPEX) is reported and managed in an efficient manner in addition to delivering key cost initiatives for the business.

What you will be doing?

-Responsible for the planning and forecasting of all cost items within Cartrawler, ensuring that the departmental costs align to the company strategy, by partnering with the various departments.
-Lead the running of the Cost Committee and enhance the current cost approvals process to identify where approval is required & review any such requests.
-Engage with Budget owners across Cartrawler to understand our cost base, ensure spending is appropriate and pro-actively highlight areas of opportunity or concern.
-Assist in the successful migration of our Planning and Forecasting process to a new Enterprise Project Management (EPM) tool ensuring that the new system reflects the requirements of the business
-Develop and continuously improve a cost reporting framework which allows Senior Mgmt. to understand the drivers of their cost base and what levers they have to drive change
-Project work as required e.g. Cost Efficiency Project to identify & crystallise potential savings

Skills required:

-Ideally you will have an accounting qualification with approximately 2+ years relevant experience
-Excellent financial acumen and ability to understand and breakdown complex data and processes.
-Have strong analytical capability through planning the analysis, conducting analysis and distilling this into recommendations which the business can understand and use for business decisions.
-Accuracy & attention to detail is critical as this information is used to inform business decisions and influence strategy.
-Critical thinking - the ability to think outside the box, see the bigger picture through consideration of future implications and scenarios and use these when making recommendations
-Planning and project management skills
-Communication skills - understanding the audience, purpose of what needs to be achieved, listening to the needs of the recipients and present
-Ownership of tasks or projects to ensure all possible efforts are made to ensure successful achievement of objective within assigned timeframe.
-Ability to prioritise workload effectively to ensure objectives are met successfully and on time
-Strong excel skills a must.
-Systems experience in SQL, Redshift or Tableau is an advantage.
